Who is this course for?

For those who work or control at height on steep slopes.

Prerequisites

Due to the physical nature of work at height candidates must have a reasonable level of fitness and will be required to complete a self-declaration of fitness to train.

Prior learning requirements, candidates must have evidence of prior Work at height Training relevant to the work task.

Course content

  • OBJECTIVE:

To train the learner to work safely on slopes using Work Restraint and basic Work Positioning incorporating the safe selection or creation of temporary anchor points and recoverable systems.

  • Basic Health and Safety Law and requirements (as relevant to work at height)
  • Suitability surveys
  • Hazard Analysis
  • Risk Assessments
  • Permit to Work systems

Safe Systems of Working at Height

  • Use of fixed structures
  • Use of temporary structures
  • Use of mobile elevated work platforms
  • Work restraint
  • Work positioning
  • Fall Arrest
  • Rescue considerations

PPE

  • Correct fit
  • Pre-use inspection of PPE
  • Quarantine rules
  • Basic operator maintenance and storage of equipment

Practical Sessions
