RR002: Rope Rescue Technician
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at anyone responsible for planning, leading or training rope based rescue, and in particular it will appeal to Emergency Services personnel, Mountain Rescue and IRATA Level 3s etc., who wish to expand upon their team rescue skills
Due to the physical nature of work at height, candidates must have a reasonable level of fitness and will be required to complete a self-declaration of fitness to train. This is a Technician level course, prior knowledge and experience of access/rescue systems is a must and evidence will be required. The minimum age for candidates is 18 years.
OBJECTIVES: To encourage critical thinking and systems analysis, using knowledge of physics and rigging principles to develop practical working systems that are as simple as possible whilst being fit for purpose, and to explore and dispel some of the “black art” myths around rope rescue.

Delivery method and assesment
On completion of the knowledge and skill refresher stages, a practical and written assessment will be completed.
