Who is this course for?

The First Aid at Work Annual Refresher qualification is specifically designed to allow qualified first aiders to update their first aid skills yearly, until requalification training is required.

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry requirements but learners would be expected to have achieved the First aid at work qualification.

Course content

Successful candidates will leave with a renewed confidence, having had the opportunity to practise essential first aid procedures, as well as learn the latest techniques needed to deal with an emergency situation.

• Assessing an incident
• Managing an unresponsive casualty
• Recovery Position
• CPR
• Wounds and bleeding
• Managing a casualty in shock
• Seizures

Delivery method and assesment

Lectures and practical elements. The course assessment is by short written test and a heavy emphasis on continuous practical assessment.

Certification

Recommended annually until first aid requalification training is required.
