What makes our Training different?
Our training solutions have evolved from the following principles:
- Our doctrines and technology exploits the synergy between different access and rescue disciplines. This integrated rescue approach means equipment consistency and compatibility for working at height, in water and in confined spaces.
- All training solutions have a robust quality assurance framework with clear learning outcomes, performance requirements and assessment criteria.
- International and national standardisation and credibility. Our programmes are bench marked against national standards (where they exist) in addition to international standards through the IRIA network.
- Evidence based solutions. We have thought long and hard about our techniques and the way we have integrated our systems to ensure they are consistent, compatible, bomb proof and simple. We apply the same minimum standards criteria to measure the performance of all new innovations which involves extensive field based failure testing. This has spawned an extensive library of video research that we use to develop our delegates respect for gravity, tight spaces and the power of moving water.
Who Accredits the Training?
We hold approved centre status from the following Awarding Bodies:
- Industrial Roped Access Trade Association (www.irata.org)
- International Rescue Instructors Authority (www.iria.org)
- Royal Yachting Association (www.rya.org.uk)
- City and Guilds Confined Space Unit 6150 in partnership with Cornwall College (www.city-and-guilds.co.uk)
- Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (www.cieh.org)
In addition RIG Systems is ISO 9001:2000 compliant and has been audited to British Standards 8454:2006 Code of practice for delivery of training and education for work at height and rescue. This means every service we deliver is fully resourced, resilience factored and quality assured.
Where do RIG Systems Ltd. Train?
We have a number of training facilities throughout the UK which includes mine shafts, multi-storey buildings, tunnel complexes, crags, quarries, masts, turbines, pylons, poles, pumped white water courses and tidal river stretches. We offer residential courses or we can run programmes at a client’s site once we identify suitable facilities.
Who are our Trainers?
Our cadre of over twenty instructors is drawn from a variety of specialist fields. We are all active in both the Industrial and the Rescue worlds specialising in multiple disciplines with an active interest in publishing field research and contributing to many of the texts in print today.
What are our Student Resources?
We have a huge library of information including videos, photos, incident reports and safety critical bulletins held online. Every student has access to this including their electronic training record with expiry reminders. We recognise that methodology does evolve and where this happens we publish and release student update notes. All delegates, irrespective of training course, receive a full hard copy hand out pack and unique certificate. Additionally, delegates have access to our telephone advice service which generates a response to technical related queries within a working day. Finally, our support office has an extensive database which tracks the competencies of all students which is a useful resource for client training departments.
We also provide expert advice,
consultancy and confined space and height rescue teams for both industry and the
UK Emergency Services. We also design and install Uniline Fall Protection
Systems and our teams can also install and test BS EN7985 anchor bolts in
accordance with BS EN7883.
